MASINDI - The Masindi District Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Sanyu Phiona, has written to Dr. Vincent Katusiime, the Masindi Hospital Medical Superintendent demanding an explanation over a video making rounds on social media in which Katusiime is seen wrestling a female Chapati vender.
The incident allegedly took place on Good Friday, March 29 at the hospital premises.
In a letter dated April 16, 2024, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), gives Dr Katusiime an ultimatum of 14 days to defend himself against; acting in a manner that brings service into disrepute, fighting at the place of work, and conflict of interest.
Harriet Nannyombi, the woman claiming to be in the video seen being wrestled down by the medical doctor and punched as onlookers rush to her rescue is a resident of Western Ward in Central Division Masindi Municipality.
Nanyombi says the quarrel ensued after Dr. Katusiime confiscated her chapatis for selling them at the hospital premises.
When contacted for a comment, Dr. Katusiime said he was still busy and our subsequent calls later remained unanswered.
