Film director and cinematographer Loukman Ali, renowned for making the country's first Netflix feature film, The Girl In the Yellow Jumper, has secured another deal to collaborate on a project funded by French film companies Black Mic Mac and Logical Pictures.
This initiative aims to promote African content globally.
In an interview with New Vision, Loukman Ali revealed that he first connected with the owners of these companies while working on his Netflix short film Katera of the Punishment Island.
"I met the gentlemen that own those two companies during my Netflix short film production. One was my executive producer and the other was my mentor on the production. They liked my work and visual style so we agreed to work on something else in the future and that’s the one that stood out," he explained.
Black Mic Mac and Logical Pictures are set to produce 12 films from selected African directors, including notable names such as Mandla Dube, Asurf Oluseyi, Ishaya Bako, Sofia Alaoui, Jean Luc Herbulot, and Loukman Ali.
