She said ahead of the festival, KCCA had organised a series of events which included: a health camp, Kampala Cycling day, the car-free day and the "No Litter Day" across the city, where residents, students, leaders, and civil society groups joined hands to give the city a fresh face with a clean-up.

She stated that this year's festival will be more inclusive and will celebrate the rich diversity of Kampala in new and exciting ways. The festival aims to emphasise the importance of creative expression, sustainability, and culture as the city looks to its future.

“The festival will start with a procession from Buganda Road, Kyagwe Road- Kampala Road- Jinja Road-Wampewo Avenue to Kololo, where the main celebrations are supposed to be held. There we shall have fanfare in a number of zones. We have the Wanainchi exhibiting what they do, and we have the Christian village, which will be in Hotel Africana. We have the children's village, which will be inside Kololo, and then we have the Halaal village, which will be in Kololo, VIP village, corporate exhibitors’ space and the main stage,” Buzeki said.

At the same event, the Uganda Police Force announced a number of tough security measures aimed at safeguarding revellers who will be attending the Kampala Capital City Authority festival slated for October 12, 2025.

Police Spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke, who spoke on behalf of the security agencies, noted that they sat at the inter-agency level and made threat assessments and estimates.

He also revealed that several roads in and around Kololo would be closed off and that no motorcycle rider would be allowed to ride beyond the closed-off points unless cleared by security. He urged the population to come out in huge numbers but adhere to the guidelines.
