Spice Diana (real name Hajarah Namukwaya) has come out to clear the air about the on-going rumour of her clearing Mariam Mumtakubwa (commonly known as Biggie)’s debt of about sh70m.

Biggie, regarded as the biggest woman music promoter in Kampala, was earlier last week sent to civil prison for six months after failure to pay a sum of sh70,058,700 to David Tumusiime Amooti.

In a recent interview Spice Diana told Bukedde TV 1, she clarified that she had been earlier misquoted by social media pundits about the plight of Biggie. “I only said that I would extend an olive branch to Biggie. I said that I would contribute to repayment of the debt. I didn’t mean that I would clear the entire sh70m,” she said.

She said she was shocked to read on a Facebook post that “Spice Diana to pay shs70m for Biggie.” She wondered where and when she had made that statement. Spice Diana promised to lead friends of Biggie in a campaign to pay her creditor, Tumusiime.

“Shs70m is a lot of money so I can’t raise it alone,” she said. To give it perspective, she added, “I also have a big debt and the creditor just called me. I didn’t not pick the creditor’s call because I don’t have money to pay back now,” she said.
