Dancehall artiste Young Mulo has confirmed his return to the music scene after many years of silence.

“I have been off the music scene for sometime because I wanted to take a break from the chaotic music industry, which even led to the death of some of our colleagues like AK 47 and Mowzey Radio,” he said in an interview with The Kampala Sun.

The artiste, real name Kassim Lubega, said his generation faced a lot of challenges, which forced him to give music a break because he never wanted to end up like AK or Mowzey Radio, who died following brawls.

“I had many challenges that included battles with industry professionals like DJs, radio and TV presenters, fellow artistes and promoters. Some music schedulers even deleted my music catalogue in their systems,” he revealed.

Young Mulo said he has been forced to make a return because of the current digital media technologies that have made life easy for artistes to create and market their music globally.

“I would like to be more digital and do more music content for streaming online. At least I can now record and distribute and promote my music with less hustle because everything can now be done on a smart phone,” he stressed.

Yung Mulo apologised to all the industry professionals he fell out with.

The musician has organised a comeback mini-concert called the Return of Young Mulo at Chunchuz Spa, Zana on Entebbe Road on Saturday, July 22, 2023.
