I am the most loved pastor in the world- Apostle Lubega on his birthday

23rd July 2024

I always tell people I am the most loved pastor in the world. I have been receiving messages since last week. Last night alone, I received thousands of messages before I went to bed, and I woke up to many more in the morning.

Apostle Grace Lubega, the leader of Phaneroo Ministries International, one of the fastest-growing ministries in Uganda, celebrated his birthday on July 21. His church members surprised him with a celebration before he could preach on Sunday.

The UMA showgrounds’ Phaneroo midweek fellowship has gained significant popularity, not only for its remarkable growth but also educative sermons from Apostle Grace, but also its youthful street preachers, their Guinness Book world record for clapping set last year, and men and women conferences.

Pastor Zac Mutyaba, a Phaneroo pastor, addressed the congregation: “Today is a special day in the ministry.” The church then sang "Happy Birthday," with some members shouting in excitement while others blew vuvuzelas and whistles. Apostle Grace walked to the pulpit with his wife, Nicolette Lubega, both smiling broadly. A large cake, decorated with a drawing of a hand lifting a person, was placed before them.

“The cake before you symbolizes what you have been to this generation and to us, your sons and daughters, all over the world. Like the Bible says, 'You are partakers of my grace,' we are also partakers of the grace of God upon your life. As a ministry and people who love you, it was important that we cut a cake with you today,” Mutyaba expressed.

As they prepared to cut the cake, Mutyaba noted, “Because Apostle Grace represents grace to this generation, we are going to count from five, since it’s a number that represents grace.”

Apostle Grace then took the microphone. “I always tell people I am the most loved pastor in the world. I have been receiving messages since last week. Last night alone, I received thousands of messages before I went to bed, and I woke up to many more in the morning. So, in case I don't reply, please understand. Let me reply to you now: thank you, because I can’t reply to everyone.”

Speaking to some church members after the service, they equally expressed love and also shared heartwarming messages to Apostle Grace.

Florence Namboozo, the Minister of State for Karamoja Affairs and Woman MP for Sironko, remarked, “To our pillar of hope, beacon of light, and father of many, we celebrate the manifestation of your unwavering service, unmatched resilience, and unconditional love for our generation. Blessed new cycle to an icon of glory! Salutations from Karamoja and Bugisu.”

Ruth Bukenya, the Phaneroo leader of Golden Mothers (women above 50 years), noted, “I want to thank God for who Apostle is in this generation, but mostly to me, for the opportunity to lead more than 100 mothers as we guide the young girls in the church. I don’t take it for granted.”

Lydia Arinaitwe, Principal Clerk Assistant at the Parliament of Uganda, also shared her wishes, “A very happy birthday to our pastor who leads us with grace and humility.”
