How King Saha shocked Cindy

“Before we got into UMA together, I had never interacted with him. When I heard the rumour, he was coming to work with us, I was worried. But when I sat down with Saha, I realized he is a very smart man. Patient. Intelligent. Listens. You can actually have a productive conversation with him. I was shocked. I used to see the Saha you all see on TV. During campaigns, he came at me. It was a shocker. I was impressed,” said Cindy while appearing on a local TV.

Singer Cindy Sanyu, who is the president of the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA), has revealed she had reservations when singer King Saha became the vice president of the association.

To add to her worries was the fact that Saha was good friends with her rival, Sheebah Karungi, and also that, at one point, he trolled her during campaigns because he also wanted to become the association president.

“He was already friends with Sheebah, so the battle found them already friends. Not like we had issues. We had rivalries during campaigns, which is normal because he also wanted to be president. But then Sheebah is his buddy. So nothing personal on my side,” she added.

Saha contested Cindy’s election as president in 2022, claiming the voting process was rigged in her favour.

In August 2023, Cindy announced Saha as the new Vice President of UMA after singer Hanson Baliruno quit to join the Uganda National Musicians Federation as Chief Whip.
