Peter Miles Kanyike has revealed that he quit music for good. The dancehall star revealed this in an interview during a Halloween party in Entebbe recently.
During the party, he was begged by the MC to give a stage performance, and to everyone’s dismay, he refused.
He remained seated, and when he was forced into holding the microphone, he sang along his Blessings song in his seat.
“I got frustrated with music in Uganda I don’t even want to associate with it anymore,” said Miles during an exclusive interview later. His frustration stems from his recording of My Girl, with Wayne Wonder, the Jamaican reggae star in 2020. He anticipated a good reception for the song from Ugandans. It instead got lukewarm response after he had heavily invested in it.

“It is then that he realized that Ugandans were no longer interested in high quality productions so I entirely gave up on music,” he said.
He also revealed that it was after that frustration that he cancelled a project with Sean Paul.
“Don’t expect any new music from me, and neither will I ever perform on any stage again,” he swore. He added that he is past the stage of being booked for a miserly sh2m for a performance, an amount he claimed he had spent on partying on that Halloween night.
Peter Miles now runs his Miles Marines company, which has cruises on Lake Victoria for tourists and fun lovers. He says that he is now constructing accommodation facilities as “my island” which will be ready by the end of this year. “I only became wealthy when I left the music industry,” he cautions musicians on which way to go.
