First Little Miss Global Uganda, Michela, to represent country in Malaysia

Queen Michela Amato 12, has this year (2024) made history by becoming the first ever Little Miss Global Uganda, a title she received from the prestigious Kids and Teens Pageant Global.
The queen received the title after confirming entry into this year’s Kids and Teens Pageant Global, where she will represent Uganda and compete for the title of Little Miss Global in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in March this year.

The pageant in its second edition, is an annual contest that brings together children from over thirty countries to compete for different crowns with the main one being the prominent Little Miss Global.
At the contest, the queens’ inner beauty will be looked at, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character and charitable involvement, through interviews with judges.
Uganda has hopes of Amato winning the Little Miss Global crown as she holds the Little Miss Uganda 2023 crown, The Little Miss Africa Uganda crown, Little Miss Photogenic Africa crown and Bliss best model 24.

In an interview with Toto Magazine, Queen Michela who stands at an impressive height of 163cm said she is excited that once again she will be flying Uganda’s flag high on an international platform and hoped to come back crowned the global queen.
Michela, a learner at Kobojja International School said apart from going for the crown, she hopes to promote Uganda’s tourism sector at the world platform, in order to see that more people visit the country and see its beauty.
“Our country is rich with a diverse culture in terms of local dishes, dressing, dances, music, languages and people with impressive hosting skills, everyone out there needs to experience this,” she said.
“I will make sure everyone gets to know the longest river in the world River Nile has its source in Uganda, I will talk about the peace here among other things.”
She added that when out there, she will let the world know that Uganda has the most beautiful falls, lakes, rivers, and wildlife including the big five, the African elephant, the lion, leopard, cape buffalos and the rhinos.

After she was crowned Little Miss Uganda 2023, Queen Michela’s heart ran and settled where it had always beat.
The star launched the Amato Foundation to promote children’s talents and stand for children's education, especially the underprivileged whom she said have a right to attain quality education.
“Seeing that my fellow children get the best access to resources like school fees and other requirements really warms my heart,” she said.
Queen Michela said she hopes someday her foundation will extend wings to other countries in Africa to help more people.
She attributed her success to her parents, whom she said are always there to offer her support and encouragement to attain all that she sets her mind on.
“My parents have stood with me in the tough times, medium times and easy times. I am what I am because of them,” she said.
The queen wants to be an architect just like her father and design different buildings that can improve the wellbeing of people.
What the queen mother says
Betty Katusiime, Michela’s mother says much as they realize the importance of education as a family, they embrace one’s talent nurturing with the same vigor, the reason why they are supporting Michela make full use of her talents.
She said pageants are safe spaces for children to grow and become people of substance in the communities.
“The training children go through is to ensure that they are smart, can be practical and can support people come out different challenges,” she said.
The queen mother described her daughter as a God-fearing person and an amazing child, who always achieves whatever she sets her mind on.
