Fast & Furious star Tyrese Gibson set for Uganda's Coffee Concert

 
US R&B star and Hollywood actor Tyrese Gibson will headline this year’s Coffee Concert, scheduled for October 3, 2026 in Ntungamo.

The event will be held at Africa Coffee Park in Ntungamo, as the climax to this year’s Coffee Marathon Uganda.

Tyrese becomes the latest addition to a growing lineup of high-profile performers who have taken to the concert stage. The inaugural edition featured Diamond Platnumz.

Organisers say this year’s edition will place the spotlight firmly on Tyrese, making it the most significant international bookings for the event so far. Further details, including supporting acts and performance schedules, are expected to be announced in the coming months.

Who is Tyrese Gibson?

Tyrese Gibson is a multi-talented entertainer who has successfully bridged music and film over a career spanning more than two decades. He first rose to fame as an R&B singer in the late 1990s, with his debut single Sweet Lady earning a Grammy nomination and establishing him as one of the standout voices of his generation.

His transition into acting was cemented by his breakout role in Baby Boy, directed by John Singleton. He later gained global recognition for his role as Roman Pearce in the blockbuster Fast & Furious series, as well as Sergeant Robert Epps in the Transformers franchise.

Despite his success in Hollywood, Tyrese has remained active in music. His 2015 album Black Rose debuted at Number One on the Billboard 200, reaffirming his place in the R&B scene. He has also been part of the R&B supergroup TGT, further showcasing his vocal range and longevity.

Beyond entertainment, Tyrese is an entrepreneur and author, known for his motivational work and bestselling books, including How to Get Out of Your Own Way. It is not the first time Tyrese Gibson is coming to Uganda. He visited Kampala in 2012.
