On May 3, hundreds of people gathered in Kinawataka-Mbuya, a city suburb, for secular-turned-gospel singer Grace Nakimera’s maiden crusade themed Tudde Eri Yesu (let's turn back to Jesus).
The event comprised prayers, giving of testimonies and performances by gospel musicians.
Nakimera, formerly known for songs such as Kawonawo, Nvawo Nawe and Anfukula, quit secular music almost 10 years ago and embarked on serving Jesus.

“Before I got saved, I encountered several attacks. I used to drink a lot to forget the worst experiences that I went through and it didn’t help in any way," she said.
Nakimera said she is bringing souls to Jesus through preaching the gospel at crusades.
She also runs a charity organisation - Save the Streets. Among the activities carried out by the organisation include cooking food for the street children, paying school fees and comforting those that have lost hope in life.
