Theatre lovers were treated to an unforgettable Easter holiday experience as No Way Out: Kaweddemu Dda lit up the stage at Theatre La Bonita on Easter Sunday and Monday.
The powerful Luganda production, a collaboration between The Ebonies and Aromatic Entertainment, delivered a compelling mix of humour, suspense and social commentary.

With a wild yet relatable storyline, the melodrama had audiences in stitches. It featured a rich blend of veteran performers and rising stars, including Sam Bagenda (Dr Bbosa), Ahmed Lubowa (Sir Ahmed Lubowa) and Sarah Ndagire.
The story begins on a celebratory note, as Sir Ahmed Lubowa marks a new chapter in life after remarrying following the loss of his first wife. Friends and family gather in a lively atmosphere filled with music, dance, and comedic exchanges; elements that define both The Ebonies and Aromatic productions.
However, beneath the surface of celebration lies a dangerous secret. Dr Bbosa, a close friend of Lubowa, develops a romantic interest in his friend’s new wife. What begins as subtle admiration soon escalates into a secret affair.

The two even plan a trip to Dubai, under the guise of a friendly getaway between Lubowa and Bbosa. Unknown to Lubowa, the trip is part of a larger scheme for Bbosa to spend time with the woman in private.
As the story unfolds, tension builds. One night, after flights to Dubai were cancelled due to the war in the Middle East, Bbosa and Lubowa’s wife arrange a secret meeting while Lubowa is asleep. But fate takes a dramatic turn when Lubowa uncovers evidence of their betrayal. In a shocking and emotional climax, murder is committed.

The narrative takes a critical turn with the introduction of a determined police investigator, played by Sarah Gava. Through careful examination and persistence, the investigator uncovers the truth behind the crime, ultimately exposing the real perpetrator and highlighting flaws within the justice system.
Beyond its gripping storyline, “No Way Out Kaweddemu” delivers powerful messages about trust, betrayal and the complexities of modern relationships.
