Gospel artiste Coopy Bly has returned to Uganda from Australia to settle a family land dispute.
In March, thugs raided his parents’ home in Rubaga division, Kampala and evicted them from their home.
He said the home in which his parents have been living in for the last 20 years was also destroyed. A lot of their belongings were thrown out and furniture was destroyed. He was also arrested and they had to pay sh20m for his bail application.
Coopy Bly told New Vision in an exclusive interview that his dad sacrificed 10 years of their childhood to go on kyeeyo in the UK to build that house as they were living in Katwe slums.
"My dad got the land from his father through inheritance. When he worked in the UK for many years, he built us that house. The people that destroyed our house are our relatives based in the UK. They are not happy with our father because he is the heir of the land where the house was," Coopy, real name Emmanuel Kusaasira, said.
He was one of the artistes that performed and entertained revellers at the Ndi Mulokole concert that was organised by fellow gospel artiste Titus Kuteesa.
