Among the notable personalities who turned up to bid him farewell were National Unity Platform (NUP) party stalwarts like Leader of Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi, Mukono MP Betty Nambooze, and Nakawa Mayor Nubian Li Bukeni, among others.
The presence of fellow entertainers, including Amarula Family’s comedians Eddie Kigere, Full Stop and Amooti Omubalanguzi, also reflected the loss felt within Uganda's comedy fraternity.
Before his body was taken to Mukono, a public farewell service and vigil were held at the NUP headquarters in Makerere-Kavule, where hundreds of fans, friends and colleagues gathered to honour the fallen comedian.

According to his manager, Kayanja, the family honoured Kapere's final wish to be buried on a piece of land he had personally purchased in Mukono.
Kapere died at a medical facility in Buddo after suffering a sudden medical attack shortly after watching his daughter perform at a school event.
He leaves behind his wife, Lydia Nakandi, popularly known as Mama Trump, and four children aged between 6 months and 11 years.
Kapere rose to prominence as a member of the Amarula Family, where his distinctive stage persona, physical comedy and self-deprecating humour made him a household name.
His death has left a void in Uganda's comedy scene, but the massive turnout at his burial demonstrated that his jokes, performances and contribution to entertainment will not easily be forgotten.
