Bruno Kiggundu, widely known as Bruno K, marked a significant milestone in his music career with his first-ever headline concert, “Ekiboozi Live in Concert,” held on 16 May at Freedom City.

More than just a musical event, the concert was a celebration of resilience, hard work, and his rise as a fan-favorite artist—especially among youth and students who discovered his music through TikTok.

The idea for the concert was sparked by the unprecedented success of his breakout TikTok show Ekiboozi Live, which on 28 April 2025 drew over 34,000 live viewers and amassed more than 27 million likes in a single session. The overwhelming response led Bruno K and his team—Roger Lubega of Source Management and Va Donz Promotions—to move forward with a live concert.

At exactly 10:16 PM, Bruno K stepped onto the stage to a thunderous welcome. Dressed in a white blazer, black shirt, and black trousers, he opened with his hit Nakulyako. The crowd, made up largely of energetic youth armed with smartphones, captured every moment as they sang along to each word.

Bruno K delivered a stellar performance that solidified his reputation as one of Uganda’s finest live entertainers. Supported by flawless sound and lighting, he performed fan favorites like Omuwala, Ntaawa, and Aliwa, and shared the stage with several collaborators including Ava Peace, Allan Toniks, Nina Roz, Spice Diana, Eddy Kenzo, A Pass, and Naava Grey—each adding their own spark to the show.

One of the most memorable moments of the night was the surprise appearance of Faridah Nakazibwe. Bruno K performed Faridah, a song he wrote specifically for her, as a heartfelt gesture of appreciation for her kindness and support.

Though the physical turnout at Freedom City did not match the massive numbers Bruno K commands online, the concert ended on a high note with an emotional gospel song and a moving speech.

“I never imagined this day would come,” Bruno K told the crowd. “This concert is not just mine—it belongs to everyone who believed in me, streamed my music, and tuned into Ekiboozi Live. Tonight, we make history together.”

The Ekiboozi Live in Concert wasn’t just a personal achievement; it also set a new benchmark for music events in Uganda, showing that with passion and the unwavering love of fans, dreams can truly come to life.

Security at the event was tight and well-managed, addressing lingering public concerns following the tragic New Year’s Eve stampede at Freedom City in 2023 that claimed nine lives. All entrances were open, security guards were stationed throughout the venue, and an ambulance was on standby. Given the public’s previous hesitation to attend events at the venue, Bruno K’s turnout was considered a success—surpassing several other recent events held at Freedom City, even if the venue wasn’t filled to capacity.
