Bad Black postpones wedding

Ugandan socialite Shanitah Namuyimbwa, popularly known as Bad Black, has postponed her highly anticipated wedding to Asha Panda, originally scheduled for Valentine’s Day (February 14).

The love crazy socialite announced her wedding date as Valentines Day 2026 during her kukyala, which took place in Nakasero, Kampala in late December 2025.

Sources close to the couple have revealed that Bad Black has opted for another date in July, to coincide with her birthday celebrations.

A number of celebrities and socialites who had already brought clothes for the February wedding will now have to shelve them until July. It means they will have to keep in the same shape until them, or go through another hustle and expenditure to buy different attire in July. During the kukyala, she promised her guests a “wedding of the year.”

Close sources reveal that the decision was influenced by Bad Black’s recovery process following a cosmetic surgery. Although the procedure went well, friends say she has not yet fully healed and wants to be in her best possible shape on her wedding day. According to those close to her, Bad Black hopes to walk comfortably, dance freely and confidently command attention in her wedding gown. She wants to be flawless.

“She wants to slay without limits,” a close friend shared. “Bad Black is very particular about how she presents herself. She wants to feel strong, confident and completely ready to own her big day.”

Her kukyala attracted an impressive lineup of celebrities and religious leaders including Abryanz, Pastor Bujjingo, Pastor Wilson Bugembe, Lil Pazo, Bruno K, Lydia Jazmine, SheebahKarungi, Winnie Nwagi and Dr. Bbosa. Those, and more, are expected to attend the wedding.

A mother of four, she has credited Asha Panda for standing by her emotionally and embracing her children as his own. The couple also shares a child, Jaasiel a bond she says has strengthened their commitment. “I’ve been open about my past and my journey,” Bad Black previously shared. “Through it all, Asha has supported me emotionally and physically. That is why I call him my forever love.”

Bad Black’s most high-profile relationship was with British businessman David Greenhalgh. The two met in Kampala and became both romantic partners and business associates, co-founding a real estate company called Daveshan Development Ltd. Their relationship ended after Greenhalgh accused her of embezzling about Shs11bn.

In a 2012 court case, it was revealed the money had allegedly been diverted to Meddie Ssentongo. Both were convicted, with Bad Black serving four years in prison and Ssentongo serving 18 months.

Kim Swagga

Bad Black and stylist Kim Swagga were not in a long-term relationship but share a controversial history linked to a paternity dispute.

Kim Swagga claims they had a one-night stand roughly 12 years ago, during a period when Bad Black was allegedly involved with Meddie Ssentongo. The issue has remained a public and media topic for years.

Meddie Ssentongo was Bad Black’s secret lover during her relationship with David Greenhalgh and was also linked to their business dealings.

He was accused of receiving money that had allegedly been siphoned from Daveshan Development Ltd. Both were convicted in 2012. After serving their sentences, their romantic relationship ended.

In later years, Bad Black has referred to him as a “brother” and publicly stated she would never reunite with him.
