10 years of Betina Namukasa

Betina Namukasa is one humble musician. It reflected in the way her 10th anniversary as a musician was organized. It was a simple dinner concert at Nikah Resort Hotel last Saturday. Its simplicity encouraged people to get intimate on the occasion.

She broke off her performance to recognize the influential personalities who had turned up. Notably was Irene Namatovu and husband Geoffrey Lutaaya, two popular musicians.

They were her mentors when she joined their band called the New Eagles Production. During her speech, Namatovu broke down and cried. Namukasa joined the mentor in tears. They later apologized that they were too overjoyed to speak. She presented a special gift to the couple.

In a post-dinner interview, Namatovu recovered her composure. “She was the best artiste among those we recruited for our band. She respects everyone and is humble,” said Namatovu.

“My husband and I love her so much. That explains why I failed to speak on stage.”

As a show dessert, her former colleagues in New Eagles Production also performed. They included Henry Mwanje, Jovan Luzinda and Grace Khan.

Namukasa also explained why she held a dinner concert.  “After 10 years in the music industry, the best way to give back to fans was to enjoy dinner with them,” she said.
