University of Kisubi granted charter

President Yoweri Museveni recently granted the University of Kisubi (UniK) a Charter, the certification that allows it to offer all levels of degrees, including doctoral degrees and also ranks it in the same category as public universities.
The Charter was finally delivered and handed over to the university’s Chancellor, Bro. Casio Aizire and the Vice-Chancellor, Bro. Deo Mugema by the Executive Director of the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), Prof. Mary Okwakol during the university’s 8th Graduation Ceremony that took place at the university on Entebbe Road in Wakiso district.

The function was witnessed by the 289 graduating students, their parents and benefactors, and a good number of the university’s staff and well-wishers.
Both the Chancellor, Bro. Casio Aizire and the Vice-Chancellor, Bro. Deo Mugema thanked President Museveni for his love and good will for UniK. The two clerics then pledged to work even harder, and also to be even more committed to producing excellent graduates of high moral standing.
The function started with a thanksgiving mass presided over by Msgr. Lawrence Ssemusu, who represented Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kampala.
The function was also dignified with the presence of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, the Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa.
