Ugandan Michael J Musimenta was crowned Mr. International University of East Africa in a gala of elegance, talent, and cultural diversity held at IUEA premises in Kansanga on Friday. Musimenta, a dynamic first-year student in Business Administration, beat 28 other contestants to the 2023 – 2024 title.

This year's pageant, themed "Crowning Beauty Beyond Borders," was not just a contest but a vibrant celebration of elegance, talent, and the rich cultural diversity that IUEA embodies.

Michael, who embarked on his IUEA journey in January 2023, is an avid music enthusiast and sports aficionado.

 Expressing his deep appreciation, Michael remarked, “Witnessing the hard work and dedication of each contestant was inspiring. Together, we have the power to transform dreams into tangible impacts within our vibrant IUEA community.”

Eritrean, Ililta Nezerab Masalab, pursuing Business Administration, was also crowned Mrs. IUEA. Ililta became a part of IUEA in May 2022 and brought her passion for acting, traveling, writing, and dancing to the forefront. 

In her message, Ililta conveyed, “With grace and dedication, I accept this title and am excited to contribute positively to our university's growth and success.” 

The panel of judges, comprising Joram of Joram Modelling Agency (JMM), Victoria Fox, Chef Idros, and Judith Heard, brought their diverse industry expertise to the fore in evaluating contestants. 

They focused on poise, confidence, intelligence, talent, and overall presentation. The crowning of Mr. & Miss IUEA 2023-24 is more than a title; it's a responsibility and an honor. Michael and Ililta received not only the titles but also exciting prizes from IUEA and their sponsors.
