Senior Four candidates of Hill View College Bulangira in Kibuku district have been cautioned against failing to follow examination instructions.

During a briefing of candidates held at the school's multipurpose hall, headteacher Godfrey Mawangwe urged the candidates to adhere to instructions saying their excellence in the examinations is dependent on their comprehension of the instructions, which most of them ignore.

The move follows the countrywide briefing of S4 candidates on October 14 as per the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) guidelines.

A total of 360 students of the college will on Monday be among the 349,450 duly registered candidates for the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations in the 3,700 sitting centres.

Mawangwe said reading the instructions gives the students clear guidance of what one has to answer and also makes them settle in case of any sort of panic.

"This briefing is the beginning of the examination. Take the information seriously as its meant to determine your future," Mawangwe said.

He cautioned candidates against getting involved in any examination malpractice as it not only ruins the image of the school but also affects the students and parents who sacrificed resources for their education.

Hill View College Bulangira executive director, Fred Magino, said on top of adhering to the UNEB guidelines, candidates needed to mind their character and maximise discipline.

Director of Studies, Hausi Njaye Byantalo, said serious candidates who have been consistent with the syllabus were going to pass the exams.
