School committees cautioned against sabotaging programmes

The commissioner for physical education and sports, Rev. Canon Dr Duncans Mugumya, has issued a stern warning to school management committees (SMCs) against undermining school programmes.

Speaking at a one-day workshop held Saturday, March 15, at St Paul Kitagata Archdeaconry, Mugumya addressed headteachers, PTA members, and management committee chairpersons from church-founded schools in Kitagata Archdeaconry.

The workshop aimed to foster a shared understanding and commitment to supporting both the academic and extracurricular needs of students in church-founded schools within the Archdeaconry.

Dr Mugumya stressed the importance of active participation from all SMC members to ensure quality education and skill development for students.

Meanwhile, Rev. Canon Arthur Atwine, the Archdeacon of Kitagata Archdeaconry, reaffirmed the Archdeaconry’s dedication to improving education standards in the district.
