The Education and sports minister Janet Museveni on Monday, April 30th, 2024 launched a National Play Day for school-going pupils consisting of games like music and dancing, and toy games among others.
Organised by the ministry, the day was celebrated under the theme “Play-based learning from early years to support lifelong learning and development". 
This was also in partnership with UNICEF Uganda, Plan International, and other stakeholders at Kololo Independence Grounds with the First Lady gracing the ceremony as the chief guest.
