Over sh7b teachers’ SACCOS money returned to treasury
The money was part of the sh10.8b allegedly stolen and channelled through dfcu Bank, which was frozen at the height of the probe launched in August 2020, according to the directorate’s spokesperson, Charles Mansio Twiine.

The Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) has recovered sh7.1b of the teachers’ savings and credit organisation societies (SACCOS) loan fund.
There are 300 registered teachers’ SACCOS across the country.
