In a bid to gauge the impact of initiatives aimed at boosting youth employment, the Cabinet Minister for Kampala Capital City, Hajjat Minsa Kabanda, recently paid a visit to MoTIV Creations.

Situated along the industrial area of Bugolobi along Old Portbell Road, MoTIV stands as an inspiration for young creatives, providing them with the skills, tools, and opportunities needed to thrive in today's economy.

Kabanda's visit underscores the government's commitment to fostering socio-economic transformation through youth empowerment and innovative programs.

Kabanda's visit to MoTIV Creations is part of a broader initiative by her team to assess the impact of youth skilling programmes across different facilities in Kampala.

She highlighted the government's efforts to develop holistic interventions aimed at tackling youth unemployment and poverty eradication.

"We are investing in traditional vocations such as masonry, carpentry, and tailoring, as well as promoting non-traditional skill areas like ICT and agro-processing, “Kabanda elaborated. "Through public-private partnerships, we believe we can create more opportunities for young people to succeed and contribute to the growth of our economy," the minister said.

MoTIV Creations, established in 2020, has been instrumental in supporting creative entrepreneurs to refine their ideas and scale their businesses.

Japheth Kawanguzi, the Team Lead at MoTIV, highlighted the organization's multifaceted approach, which includes providing skills training through the academy, offering access to tools in makerspaces, and facilitating market opportunities for creatives.

"We are committed to addressing the diverse needs of the creative industry, covering areas such as fabric, wood, metal, kitchen, and media and art," Kawanguzi explained. "Through our various verticals, we aim to create a supportive environment where young creatives can thrive and succeed," Kawanguzi stated.
