Kyambogo College School is set to kick off activities running up to the celebrations to mark its platinum jubilee (70 years of existence).

Founded in 1954, the school is expected to celebrate its platinum jubilee on August 10, 2024.

Headteacher Stanley Mugume says they will have a fundraising drive to improve on the school's infrastructure including re-roofing some of the old structures that still have asbestos sheets. Asbestos sheets are linked to cancer, according to medical experts.
On Tuesday, April 9, 2024, the school officially held an event to kick off these activities. The event saw several alumni and education ministry officials attend.

These included Buganda Kingdom chief palace advisor and an old boy of the school Apollo Makubuya, chairperson of the school’s board of governors Dr Steven Kasumba and education ministry commissioner for secondary education Juliet Atuhaire Muzoora, who represented permanent secretary Ketty Lamaro.
