Katakwi to lease land for Soroti University agriculture faculty

Geoffrey Omolo, the district LCV chairperson says the land in Palam Sub-County that was earlier earmarked for Kumi University will now be leased out for Soroti University’s Faculty of Agriculture.
According to Omolo, the district will soon survey the said land before leasing it out to the university.

Katakwi District Council is in the process of leasing land to Soroti University to aid agriculture studies.
This follows a request from Soroti University for land for the Faculty of Agriculture.
Geoffrey Omolo, the district LCV chairperson says the land in Palam Sub-County that was earlier earmarked for Kumi University will now be leased out for Soroti University’s Faculty of Agriculture.
According to Omolo, the district will soon survey the said land before leasing it out to the university.
He believes that setting up the Faculty of Agriculture in the district will benefit the local community.
Soroti University became a fully-fledged public university in July 2015 with a mandate to train competent and competitive professionals in applied sciences.
