“I was the only student from Africa in my class. We were so many foreign students, the majority from non-English speaking countries. It did not make sense that the university took time to write in their acceptance letters that the mode of communication was English or Arabic, only for the majority of the lecturers to use Urdu, Pakistan’s national language, as the dialect of instruction,” Habiba says.
Some students are lucky to get full scholarships, while others do not. Kavuma says if the scholarship is partial, the parents should know how much they are supposed to pay.
