Muhakanizi was one of the trailblazers of Uganda's modern economy - Kasaija

Kasaija said during his career, Muhakanizi made enormous contributions to revamping, restructuring and correcting economic distortions of the 1970's under Idi Amin's regime, to restore macroeconomic stability and sustained economic growth.

Muhakanizi started his career in the then Ministry of Planning and Economic Development until when there was a merger of the two ministries to create the current finance ministry.
