Msgr Magembe's funeral mass underway at Kisubi Minor Seminary

The funeral mass for Msgr Expedito Magembe is underway at Ntuwa Stadium, Kisubi Minor Seminary on Entebbe Road, Wakiso district.

The May 12, 2025, event is being presided over by Kampala Catholic Archbishop Paul Ssemogere.

Over 300 priests are concelebrating, including Bishop Antony Zziwa of Kiyinda Mityana Diocese, Bishop Lawrence Mukasa of Kasana-Luweero, Bishop Christopher Kakooza of Lugazi, Bishop Serverus Jjumba of Masaka and the Nuncio, His Excellency Archbishop Augurine Kasujja.

The Prelates performed the commendation rites at the casket (of Msgr Magembe).

Gen Katumba Wamala delivered the condolence message from President Museveni. The President paid tribute to Msgr Magembe for his commitment to children and the youth. He particularly thanked him for helping young people to know and love God.

He assured mourners that all the projects that he was helping Magembe to do at Mount Sion Prayer Centre, Bukalango, would be accomplished.

Before delivering the message of the President, Gen Katumba Wamala gave his personal remarks.

He praised Magembe for his unconditional love that he lavished on all people, indiscriminately.

Gen Katumba announced a donation of sh500m that Museveni gave towards the burial expenses.
