KAMPALA - At The Gardens Najjera, Saturday evening came alive with emotion, drizzled memories, and timeless tunes as Uganda’s fourth-floor generation (aged 40-50) turned up in droves to honour the life and legacy of the late DJ Bush Baby, born Michael Benjamin Owor, who passed away early last week.
Dubbed The 4th Floor Edition, this special instalment carried the theme “A Toast to a Passion and Legacy Lived”, and was a vibrant tribute to a man who defined RnB, hip-hop and urban culture for the generation.

Familiar faces like Beewolf, Edward Nimusiima, Patrick Salvador, Siima Sabiti and Deedan Muyira were seen soaking in the vibes, clinking glasses and reliving moments that DJ Bush Baby helped soundtrack.
What was meant to be a night of music turned into a heartwarming reunion of friends, colleagues and fans.
Hosted by Bush Baby’s close friends and former collaborators Siima and Rudende, the event brought tears and cheers in equal measure.

From soulful RnB throwbacks to golden-era hip-hop classics, the playlist echoed Bush Baby’s unmistakable touch. It was curated to celebrate him and included a special set he had been preparing for this very night.
“Made it to Gardens Najjera just in time for the set Bush Baby had prepared for today. Surreal. The brother was a legend. He’s being celebrated as only he can—on his own terms,” said Tony Natif.
“I joked with DJ Bush Baby last Saturday that entrance to Fourth Floor should be by ID only, just like back in the day,” remembered Paul Mwirigi.
“It wasn’t just a tribute it was homecoming, healing, and history all in one,” said Anne Maria Musoke.
The late Owor Michael Benjamin, aka Bush Baby, was buried on Sunday in Tororo Pajangango village.
