The youth from Kanyanya Parish, led by the director of pontifical mission, Fr. Dr. Ambronse Bwangatto, entertained the Old Religious at Queen of Peace Elderly Sister’s Home in Ggogonya on Entebbe Road on Saturday, April 21, as part of celebrations to mark Vocation Day.

The team started their day at Emmanuel Cardinal Wamala's residence in Nsambya, Kampala,  followed by a visit to the Brothers in Kisubi on Entebbe Road and ended at the  elderly sisters' home.

The uplifting songs by the youth entertained  the sisters whose ages ranged from 70 to 93, with a number of them seen joining in.

"I feel happy and I am going to continue to be strong. I hope they come back every weekend to entertain us. If we were young, we would go out and influence others to join us, but today it is you who influence many to come and join us," remarked Sister Josephine Nabulime, 84.

 "Sometimes we feel empty, hopeless and lonely. They (the youth) came at the right time when we had started to become weak," she added.

The in charge of the elderly sisters' home, Sister Josephine Sserabidde, expressed gratitude to the youth over the gesture, urging them to come again.

"The intergenerational connections and programmes should continue. They can also help a lot of people in the communities who are suffering from anxiety, depression and loneliness," she added.
