Parliaments committee on trade has asked officials from the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) to provide a detailed breakdown of some of its key budget items for the next financial year.

The directive on March 20, 2024, came after the team from the standards body, led by the acting executive director Daniel Nangalama, failed to defend the shillings 3.3 billion allocated for the general use of goods and services and shillings 2.7 billion allocated for travel and transport expenses.

The failure prompted committee chairperson Mwine Mpaka to give the entity more time to provide a breakdown of the budget they are seeking.
