Vasundhara Oswal driving Uganda’s ethanol production

“When I first came to Uganda, I noticed that many ENA producers were using molasses and sugarcane,” Vasundhara explains. “But the maize market was suffering. Farmers had nowhere to sell, and many were offloading their maize at a loss. That is when I thought, why not set up a plant that runs on maize? That is how PRO was born.”

PRO Industries produces 120,000 litres of ENA and 35,000 litres of ethanol per day, with expansion plans already underway to raise capacity to 200,000 litres per day by 2026
