KAMPALA - Uganda’s average annual headline inflation rose to 3.5% in the financial year ending June 2025, up from 3.2% the previous year, according to new figures from the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS).

The uptick was largely driven by core inflation, which reflects movements in prices of goods and services such as rent, transport and education. Core inflation averaged 3.9% over the year, compared to 3.0% in 2023/24.

According to UBOS, the trend suggests price pressures in the country remained relatively stable throughout the year despite disruptions to global supply chains due to trade tensions, geoeconomic fragmentation, and changes in shipping routes.
