Ugandan business people and entrepreneurs who will be joining the Africa and Turkish business community for the Türkiye Africa Business and Economic Forum should prepare investible proposals in order to tap into the $75b funding opportunities that will be unveiled at the forum.
The forum organised by the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) of Türkiye hosted by the Turkish trade ministry and co-ordinated by the African Union, will run from October 16-17, 2025, at the Istanbul Conference Center in Türkiye.
According to a statement from the Turkish Embassy in Uganda, the forum brings together 4,000 participants from all over Africa and Türkiye, including potential funders such as the African Development Bank, Afreximbank, Turk Eximbank, International and Regional financial institutions, and entrepreneurs.
According to the statement, the target of this year’s forum is to close investment deals worth $75 billion.
According to the organisers of the event, the forum is part of Türkiye’s goal of strengthening economic relations with African countries so as to contribute to Africa’s economic integration, economic development and industrial growth.
Currently, Türkiye’s exports to Africa accounted for $21.5 billion in 2024, where Turkish imports from Africa amounted to $11.3 billion in the same period.
Now in its fifth Edition, the forum will be held under the theme: Leveraging Türkiye-Africa Relations for Mutual Gains with priority sectors including agriculture and food, renewable energy, transport and logistics, construction and contracting, mining, automotive, textile, defence industry and digital technologies.

On the first day, there will be the Turkiye African Women Leadership and Entrepreneurship dialogue that will be graced by Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan and the first lady of the Republic of Angola, Lady Ana Afonso Dias Lourenco.
Under this session, African businesswomen are expected to share their experiences needed to transform the business landscape, discuss collaboration opportunities and explore ways of promoting greater female participation in leadership.
Other discussions on the first day are expected to revolve around country presentations, alongside panel discussions on food security and sustainable food production, pharmaceutical and medical supplies, Türkiye Africa Women Leadership and Entrepreneurship Dialogue, Competitive and Collaborative Textile Value chains, among others.
The second day will be characterised with bilateral business meetings as well as other panels on technology, manufacturing and mining, financing Africa’s infrastructure needs, among others.
