Residents of Pakanyi Sub-County in Buruli County, Masindi district, have called upon  government to repair  a bridge in Tantara village, which got broken about three years ago.

Located along Ibaralibi – Alimugonza road, which is about 20kms from Masindi town, the bridge is in a bad state and cannot facilitate movement of motorists.

‘’Vehicles cannot cross to the other side of the bridge yet we have to transport our agricultural products,” Bogere Atugonza, a resident of Alimugonza said.

Frank Asiimwe, the LC3 Chairperson for Pakanyi said business people have also been forwarding complaints to his office hence calling on government to speed up the intervention process.

Cosmas Byaruhanga, the Masindi District LC5 Chairperson, said funds for the reconstruction of the bridge have been secured saying works would begin before end of September, 2022.

Byaruhanga did not however disclose how much had been secured.
