New Vision counter gains on Monday at USE

BUSINESS | NEW VISION | USE

KAMPALA - The New Vision stock price gained by 3.23% on Monday (June 20) at the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE) to trade at sh160 per share. 

The 3.23% added at least sh382m to investors' paper wealth gain at the time of reporting. The stock price gains also mean the firm’s total market capitalisation to sh12.2b. 

Market turnover at the bourse closed the day at sh25.3m with 603,320 shares being traded. 

On June 17, the market traded sh379m in turnover according to data from a licensed stockbroker.  

During the day, Stanbic dealt sh11.7m in turnover from 531,397 shares, Umeme moved sh9.58m from 39,912 shares, MTN traded sh3.5m from 19,400 shares, Uganda Clays Limited (UCL) exchanged sh228,000 from 12,000 shares and New Vision moved sh97,960 from 611 shares. 

On stock price movements, Stanbic dropped by 0.67% to 22.12 while the other active counters during the day remained unchanged; MTNU at sh185.00, UCL at sh19 and Umeme at sh240.
