The Minister of Finance Planning and Economic Development Matia Kasaija directed that effective 1st July 2022, the compulsory implementation of Local Marine Cargo Insurance overseen by the Insurance Regulatory Authority takes effect.
The directive aimed at growing the local insurance industry.
We spoke to Peter Makhanu, the Managing Director Liberty General Insurance Limited on how this directive is changing the face of doing business in the insurance sector.
