KAMPALA - Uganda’s inflation rate eased to 2.9% in the 12 months to February 2026, down from 3.2% in January, according to the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS).
For a commodity consumer, the latest inflation rate means prices are still rising, but at a slightly slower pace than a month ago.
Core inflation, which strips out volatile items such as food crops, fuel and utilities, also cooled to 3.0% from 3.3% in January. The shift suggests underlying price pressures are softening.
