From Diploma in Mechanical Engineering to Success: Godwin Mwesezi's Journey as a Production Manager and Entrepreneur
Godwin Mwesezi is a 30-year-old production manager at Crown Beverages Pepsi plant in Entebbe. He ranks third in the management team and attributes his success to his technical education, having pursued a diploma in mechanical engineering at Uganda Technical College Bushneyi and later a government scholarship for a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at Kyambogo University. In 2014, he secured a three-month internship at Crown Beverages which led to a three-month contract as a line operator, and later he was promoted to shift manager and finally to his current position of production manager. In 2016, he set up his own company, Godtech Engineering, which makes and modifies pallets and provides industrial training for carpenters. The company has since acquired its own premises and machinery, and Mwesezi relies on technology and effective communication for his business operations. When hiring, he looks for trainable skills, output, ability to communicate, and willingness to learn.
