Ecobank Uganda has marked this year’s Ecobank Day with a generous donation of assistive equipment and digital learning tools to Angel’s Centre for Children with Special Needs in Wakiso District, reaffirming its commitment to inclusive learning and community upliftment.

Speaking during the event over the weekend, Grace Muliisa, managing director of Ecobank Uganda, said holding the 13th edition of Ecobank Day reaffirms its commitment to working alongside local communities to promote inclusive and quality education.

“Enabling Inclusive Learning for All.” This theme reflects Ecobank’s conviction that every child, including those with disabilities, should have equitable access to education,” Muliisa said.

Launched in 2013, the Day has become the Group’s flagship corporate social responsibility initiative, mobilising employees, the Ecobank Foundation, and partners around critical causes such as health, education, and youth empowerment.

The 2025 edition is particularly meaningful as it marks Ecobank’s 40th anniversary, celebrating 40 years of innovation, growth, and commitment to Africa’s development.

“As part of the ongoing campaign ‘Transforming Africa through Education’, Ecobank Uganda is proud to have supported initiatives that promote inclusive and digital learning.

Over the past 2 years, we have contributed to the provision of digital equipment used in football for the blind and facilitated annual internet connectivity for children with disabilities.

For this final year of the campaign, the bank, in partnership with Simplifi Networks, aims to reach over 100 beneficiaries at the Angels Centre in Wakiso District, a remarkable school that supports children with Down Syndrome and other developmental disabilities.

The focus is on demonstrating how technology and artificial intelligence can open new possibilities in teaching and learning for children with disabilities.

As part of the day’s activities, Ecobank donated 25 tablets in partnership with Simplifi, assistive tools, specialised chairs, and other essential support items to improve the learning environment.
