KAMPALA - CHINT Electronics Uganda, together with its luxury home solutions brand OPPEIN, has reaffirmed its commitment to customer partnership, innovation, and people-centred development during a customer appreciation dinner held on December 19, 2025, at Mestil Hotel in Kampala.

The event brought together customers, partners and business leaders to celebrate a year of collaboration and growth, while recognising the role customers have played in strengthening the CHINT and OPPEIN brands in Uganda.

The dinner was graced by business leader Patrick Bitature as the guest of honour, alongside other business executives, whose presence underscored the importance of private-sector leadership in driving Uganda’s economic development.

Speaking at the event, CHINT and OPPEIN Uganda managing director Namutebi Shi described the dinner as a moment to pause, reflect and express gratitude.

“Tonight is about our customers and partners. You chose to trust CHINT and OPPEIN, to believe in our products, our people, and our vision. For that, we are deeply grateful,” Namutebi said.

She highlighted the recent launch of the CHINT Centre, which now houses the OPPEIN brand, describing it as more than a showroom but a vision of the future.

“The CHINT Centre is designed to be the home of smart living solutions, where innovation, functionality, and lifestyle come together to make life better, smarter, and more efficient,” she said.

Namutebi noted that although OPPEIN is still a young brand in the Ugandan market, the company is confident in its growth trajectory, citing the success story of CHINT, which has grown into one of Uganda’s most trusted electrical brands.

She also acknowledged CHINT’s partners, including KCCA FC and NEC FC, whom the company sponsors, describing them as part of the wider CHINT and OPPEIN family.

Results and values

Bitature commended the leadership behind the brands, noting that sustainable success is built not only on results but on values.

“What matters is not just what has been built, but how it has been built. True leadership is marked by humility, consistency, integrity, and a commitment to raising standards across the industry,” Bitature said.

He emphasised the importance of strong foundations, family support, and people-focused leadership in building lasting enterprises.

Also speaking at the event, CHINT Uganda head of corporate affairs John Kimbowa said the dinner was organised to appreciate loyal customers and partners who have supported the company’s journey.

He highlighted CHINT’s focus on technology-driven solutions, particularly in renewable energy and smart living, noting that the company continues to invest in innovations such as electric vehicle chargers and smart home systems to meet evolving customer needs.

Kimbowa added that CHINT employs over 1,000 people under its corporate umbrella, with more than 90 per cent being Ugandans, and operates in Kampala, Namanve and Mbale, with plans for further expansion.

Partners, including Dennis Ngabirano co-founder of SUMs, also praised CHINT for supporting local brands and fostering partnerships built on quality and trust.

During the dinner, selected customers were recognised for their loyalty and contribution to the company’s growth. However, the organisers emphasised that all customers remain central to CHINT and OPPEIN’s success.

As the company looks ahead to 2026, CHINT and OPPEIN reaffirmed their commitment to innovation, partnership, and solutions that improve lives, enhance business efficiency, and prepare communities for the future.
