There are family owned businesses that have existed for centuries and have survived longer than the visions of their founders such as, the Japanese firm called Kongo Gumi that was founded in 578 AD, Goldene Engel Apotheke which was founded in 1389 in Switzerland, Schwabe AG founded in 1466 in Switzerland and the Brookes Brothers in the US founded in 1818.
