The Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda (IRA) and other stakeholders in the insurance industry have today (Monday, March 10) officially started the 4th Annual Insurance Week running from March 10th to 14th.

The event is being held at Millennium Park (formerly KCCA Grounds) in Lugogo, Kampala, with a grand finale at the Insurance Innovation Awards Gala slated for March 14th.

This year’s insurance week is running under the theme “Redefining Insurance: Trust, Innovation and Inclusivity” and it intends to showcase different products, services and innovations that the players have generated over the years.

The event among others seeks to promote insurance awareness among the public to stimulate demand and ensure consumer protection. This helps the population understand how insurance works and how they can benefit.

It is part of the ongoing efforts, with a series of activities designed to enhance consumer education, foster industry innovation, and reinforce public confidence in insurance services.

The IRA also plans to extend engagements to regional offices in Gulu, Mbarara, and Mbale, broadening the reach of the event.

With a strong emphasis on consumer protection and community involvement, Insurance Week is an important platform for demonstrating the value of insurance, addressing challenges, and engaging with the public to ensure a greater understanding of this essential sector.
