Why 2024 was politically calm but economically tough
Two incidents nearly torched the country in 2024. In the first half, reports that the Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Mutebi had been arrested and confined in Namibia angered the Baganda. Opposition leaders fueled it by tacitly implying collusion between the Government and some Buganda kingdom officials to harm the Kabaka.
