URA FC will start a new era without coach David Obua as they take on NEC at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso in the Uganda Premier League.

This is the first game for the tax collectors ever since Obua was relieved of his duties. They are also playing their first game in Wakiso after they shifted their home venue from Mehta Stadium to Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

URA who are ninth with 31 points come into this game having gone five games in all competitions without a win. NEC is fifth with 40 points, while Kitara leads the standings with 44 points.

However, URA battles a side that is in contention for the league title alongside table leaders Kitara, BUL, Vipers, and SC Villa.

When the two sides faced off in the first round, NEC were 2-0 winners but interim coach Robert Mukasa has to make sure the club gets back to its winning ways.

"We have to perform to our expectations. We know that NEC is a good side but I believe we are ready for the battle," noted Mukasa.

New days give room to new opportunities, while new pages avail a chance to write new stories. In the same breath, Mukasa will have a task to write his story in a few days he will be in charge of the team since Alex Isabirye has already taken over the position of head coach. Mukasa who understands the crisis the team is in had been fired by Obua with three other coaches but he was reinstalled.

However, NEC who defeated Kitara 1-0 in their previous league game and also qualified for the semifinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup also have a lot to prove.

For NEC, such games determine their title credentials, but coach Hussein Mbalangu has tasked his players to improve their performance.

“URA is a top club we are playing and we don’t want to make any mistakes. This is another test for the players and we have to be ready for any challenges. We are away and we can use that as an advantage to try and pick a positive result,” noted Mbalangu.
