The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, has asked the Parliamentary Committee on Public Accounts Central Government to defer from visiting Lubowa Hospital Construction site until a later date is communicated from the Ministry of Health.

Earlier this month, the committee chaired by the Butambala County Mp- Muwanga Kivumbi intervened with officials from the Ministry of Health and grilled the Lubowa Hospital Engineer, George Otim for causing government possible loss of sh286b by issuing certificates of milestone completion that are not correspondent to the works on which ministry of finance based to pay the investor of the project.

According to Among's letter addressed to the Public Accounts Committee Chairman Muwanga Kivumbi, members of the committee should first wait for the Ministry of Health to procure protective gear that will be used during their visit to the site.

Today (Friday), the committee was set to visit the hospital but they were stopped by a letter from the Speaker asking them to defer till proper arrangements are made.

However, Muwanga Kivumbi says they will summon the Ministry of Health officials next week to get further clarification before a final report is made.
