GARDENING | PLANTERS | SHOES
If you have old shoes or those you no longer want, turn them into a garden.
Even if they are sandals, casual or gumboots, you can use them to grow ornamental and edible plants.
Remove any shoe inserts from the shoes and create drainage holes.
You can use a nail or screwdriver. If the soles are hard, ask an adult to drill them for you.

After, fill the shoes with soil. But it should be mixed with manure and charcoal dust to avoid caking. Caking is when the soil holds together and becomes very hard.
Caking makes it difficult for the plant to grow well because the hard soil hinders the roots from growing.
After, plant your flowers, spices or vegetables. These include mint, oregano, thyme, tomatoes, and cabbages among others. But the plant you choose will depend on the shoe size and type.
The shoe garden can also add beauty to the home.
Hang them on the balcony, verandah or any wall you want.
You can also paint the shoes with colours of your choice and remember to water regularly.
