Working in partnership with the National Forestry Authority (NFA) and the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO), the Rotarians of Rubaga secured 300 fruit seedlings and planted them at Trinity College Nabbingo (on Masaka Road, in Wakiso district).
The fruit-forest planting exercise took place on July 13 (2024). The Rotarians of Rubaga performed the exercise together with members of the Interact Club of Trinity College Nabbingo (their hosts).
The President of the Rotary Club of Rubaga, Paschal Osire explained his club’s participation.
“|Greening the environment is an important project for us Rotarians. So, when we heard about the tree-planting exercise of Kampala Archdiocese, we had no alternative but to boost it with our active participation.”
The President of the Interact Club of Trinity College Nabbingo, Claudia Naggujja (S4) encouraged schools to make tree planting a way of life.
“It is my desire that all schools, especially those that are blessed with land, to make tree-planting a culture. The threat of climate change is real. We need to take a strategic and deliberate action for ecological protection to secure our survival,” said Claudia.
