Paul Matovu’s parents passed on when he was seven years old. He was raised by his grandparents in Kassanda district. While there, he fell in love with agriculture. When he moved to Kampala for his university education, he was moved by how urban dwellers struggled to get food. He ventured into vertical and micro gardening, a space-saving way to grow food. In four years, this business has scooped 10 international awards and Matovu, 31, has grown it from $1,000 to $50,000 due to crowdfunding online.
